UPDATE: Tori sent me a link to an interview with Stacey Hedger! Here is the link! Enjoy! She's a pretty good sport I think. Thanks, Tori! (She and Heidi got a kick out of this video. In fact, they called me right after viewing it!)
Okay, I know it is kind of unusual for me to post something like this, but I couldn't resist! I saw this video recently and it has haunted my dreams ever since. It is hilarious, ridiculous and actually took place in Omaha in the 80's. I guarantee once you see this video of the talent portion of an 80's beauty pageant in Nebraska, you'll never be the same. Especially considering the out-of-tune trumpet, the unitard with fringe, the hair, the dancing and the mixture of all those things together. Enjoy! But don't blame me if you're never the same again!
Oh, and there are bits when she's playing the trumpet that are boring if you're tone-deaf, but it's the bits of interpretive dance in between that give this woman my vote for Miss Thang!

OMG OMG um that all i can say!
LOL! I am about to pee my pants I am laughing so hard. I love the part where she is shooting with the trumpet!!!! That is SOOOO sad. I wonder where Stacy is today? I think you need to do some research on that and get back to us!!
Wow! Makes this Stacy proud :)
I don't want to know where she is, but if I had to guess, I'd say Stacy Hedger is probably a pageant mom, dragging her pre-pubescent daughters (I'd say there are two of them) around the country, forcing them to wear makeup and do insane things on stage against their will. Oh, and the two girls have the very same hair and no matter what they do in life, Stacy Hedger believes they will never top her interpretive dance/mimed/out-of-tune trumpet performance in 1985's Miss Western Nebraska pageant. Years from now, the girls will realize she was right. Nothing will EVER top that.
That's what I think. Oh, and I'm glad my parents didn't own a video camera in the 80s. I'm sure there's tons of things I'd hang my head in shame about if they ended up on the WWW. We all do...of course, they'll never match this clip in sheer idiocy.
That's all from me...

oh god. oh dear sweet god. Did that just happen? What the - why did she - how did they... I'm at a loss. It was hard to listen to the horribly out of tun trumpteering when my attention couldn't be torn from the fringe. It's just so sparkly...

'Tis the sparkliest fringe many of us will ever see in our entire lives.

Wow, that's...I'm not sure what, but it's something!!
Thanks for a good laugh!
Oh dear Lord, I can't quit laughing!! Where did you find that? Well, not everybody is beautiful AND talented. Surely, she had another talent....well, maybe not....but, I haven't had a belly laugh like this for a long time!!! She should have played like Milli Vanilli, and saved our ears. That was just so wrong in so many ways. Can everybody say Drama Queen!!! ???? LOL LOL I think Luke Skywalker left the Universe after that one!!!
Mom Vrbas
I just can't imagine the crazy people she rehearsed that with being able to keep a straight face and tell her "yes, definitely...in fact, if you could act like you're shooting aliens with the trumpet, it'll put you over the top! Girl, you're GOLD tonight up there!"
Sad really. I'll bet she's really re-thinking those friendships from the 80s right now...if she hasn't already!

Missy, I found out where Stacey Hedger is now. She's living on every website on the internet. If you do a Google search for her, the video is everywhere. I'll bet one of her pageant nemeses leaked this to the internets...those beauty queens are a mean bunch of hussies!

Entering a pageant...$1000
Trumpet...$500
The outfit complete with fringe...$50
Hair-do...$20
Utterly and completely humiliating yourself to every extent possible at the Miss Nebraska pageant...PRICELESS
Oops...Miss Arizona
OMG! I loved this video! Loved the hair, the fringed outfit, the interprative dance, the horrible trumpet solo... the whole thing! Loved it! Ha Ha Ha...
The music teacher in me could only listen for about 20 seconds. But if could be useful....I could show it to beginning band students, showing them how NOT to play!
