This isn't the most exciting video, but it's cute...

Jack's New Toy

Mommy got this for Jack while Daddy was playing in a volleyball tourney on Saturday. She described it to me on the phone, but I didn't understand. It's awesome!
Judging by the smile alone, it's obvious he loves it!
Bounce, bounce, bounce.

Running Around and Talking = Chaos

Jack surprised me yesterday when he pointed to the dog and said, "Dex!" He said it again about fifty times yesterday morning, which you can hear right in the first two seconds on this video. He also says: Dad, Mom, Ball, Dog, Okay, Uh oh, Hi, Hey, Jack and Neh for 'no'! I'm sure I'm forgetting others, and many other words we can't understand.

How did this kid get so cute?

Happy Birthday, Matthew!

Matthew wearing his early b-day present from Uncle Dave and Aunt Amy...and Jack!
So chic!
What a handsome guy.
Still a fan after yesterday, bud?
Maya and Matthew.
Happy Birthday, Matthew!
We love you!

A Night At The Museum

I stole the top one from Sarah's blog. Sorry! I couldn't resist!
We went to the museum on Friday night with Sarah and Owen and Miss Scott (or TiLynn as she would prefer to be called). We did some looking around, then headed home because it was getting rainy. We couldn't get Jack to put the lid (hat) on his jack o' lantern! Maybe at Halloween he will. He feels the same way about hats that his pa does I guess.
A bear? Really? I would have thought Ted would be a pig...hmmm... OH, SNAP!
Owen and his #1 lady.
TiLynn and Owen chill in Railroad Town. Seriously, we have a great museum!
Owen and Jack on the sidewalk at RR Town. I think this was between the hardware store and the mill. I have yet to see a cuter dog or a more handsome pumpkin. You?

Bloglifting Photos From Ms. Hickenbottom

The race is on and here comes embarassment in the back stretch, leg cramps are going to the inside, my tears are holding back, they're tryin' not to fall...sing it if you know it...
Here at the Vrbi, we believe that if your photos were good enuf for your blog, they're good enuf for ours. So we stole these from Lane and Sarah. So sue us!

The Jack O' Lanterns At Jack's House

If you haven't noticed, we have quite the pumpkin theme going on this fall.
And we're lovin' it!
I found some washable, nontoxic acrylic paints on clearance at Wally World this morning early and thought it'd be perfect to paint some pumpkins.
Jack was a natural painter. He grabbed that brush and went to town!
I helped him make a handprint on the side of Mr. Pumpkin.
Concentration in our family involves much sticking out of our tongues...
We're officially a mess! Surprisingly though, barely any got on the floor.
We learned a lot about colors today, and that when mixed together with fingers, colors are so much more fun than in silly books!
And it's off to the bath...

Jack's finished product. Really good work! Sorry Wauneta Breeze for getting paint all over you!
Don't know what the point is here, but I like this picture a bit.
Cleanup time. And if you look in the distance, I think someone needs to eat some bananas soon!
I did these four after Jack went to bed. Classy.
And this one was a bit more involved. I'm so warped...

Routine Revision

Our morning routine used to consist of me running around with Jack at my feet or in my arms. I would rush around with him in tow, brushing my teeth and putting my socks and shoes on with him in my arms. Now, we are able to sit him down with a drink and some breakfast while he watches "Arthur" in his Spidey chair. I prefer this routine to the last one...

An Evening At Helgoth's Pumpkin Patch

Here are Jack and his dad comparing 'tats' by the chickens after getting to the pumpkin patch. We went for a special outing for Mommy's school.
Owen (the dang cute kid) and Lane.
Lane is a photographer at the newspaper and his wife works with Amy at the school in special education. We met them at Miss Scott's house and drove out from there. We had A LOT of fun with all of them, as you'll soon see! And if you'd like to see what Lane does for a living, click here for some examples of his incredible photographic talent.

Lane, Owen, Jack, and Lil' Ol' Me
Sarah (O's Mommy) shows Jack a baby kitten. He was skiddish to say the least. Must be a dog person!

Measuring just over 2-1/2 feet!
Of course we went down the humongo slide!
And Lane and O did too. That side of the slide was all wonky. You couldn't stay in the middle no matter how hard you tried!
Amy took this photo of one of her students on the zip line. Nice photography, Mrs. V!
Jack liked this wheely thingy a lot.

Lane and I challenged each other to a trike marathon. Look at the left rear tire on mine. Get off the trike ya fat lard!
Rounding the corner. He totally cut me off right before this!
Neck and neck and feelin' the burn. This is right about the time I started cramping.
I ended up kicking his butt, but had a wicked evil leg cramp. That was a blast! Sorry for kicking your butt, Lane. Better luck next year! (And let's stretch next time...)
Ms. R and Jack hung out for a while. In the next couple photos, I'll show you how I made her fall down! Tee hee...evil grin...

She tried to hold the big pumpkin open for me to get in with Jack...
...and ended up on the ground! It was totally funny but looks painful as the dickens in this picture. Kinda like the 'I've fallen and I can't get up' lady. Hope I didn't break your hip, Deb!She's quite a ham, that Ms. R! We like her a bunch!
Jumping in the inflatable pumpkin.
What a great time.
I caught Lane and O in mid-air. Not a great photo. I couldn't figure out which setting to put my camera on! It was so orange in there.

Sarah, Owen and Lane on the hayrack ride. Is that kid adorable or what? Kisses from the dad on the hayrack ride.
This is us being wicked goofy. I like this one a lot!
Pickin' out a pumpkin.
I love this picture of us getting our pumpkin. The sunset behind us is totes autumnally sweet. Nice photography, Mommy. I think even Lane-o would be impressed! (We gave the pumpkin to Owen's family 'cuz we have a million already!)
